For the past 10 years The Beach Baptist has hosted a Trunk or Treat event. Over 1,000 kids from the beach and beyond attended the event in 2021. The event had to be canceled in 2022 due to Hurricane Ian.
The event had originally been planned to take place this year, however, Beach Baptist was notified that as of as of October 1st the state would no longer be providing the church with a grant that was paying their pantry workers. The management at the church decided to cancel Halloween to be able to pay pantry workers and keep it open for Fort Myers Beach residents.
On Monday at 3PM we asked the Yellow Army to help us raise $2,000 to help Beach Baptist pull of the event. You did it in 49 minutes.
Volunteers are also very much needed to make this a spooktacular (sorry) event.
