Allegations of Breaking The Law
After being told by Town Attorney Nancy Stuparich they were not mandated to set qualifying dates for the upcoming recall, Bill Veach and Ray Murphy have filed an emergency motion alleging Karen Woodson and John King violated Florida law by voting against setting the dates.

Boat Accident Sends 7 to Hospital
Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach rescue crews saved seven boaters after a vessel crash near Bowditch Beach Park Sunday night. The 36-foot boat collided with a barge around 10 p.m., Sunday.

Fire District Votes To Drop Millage Rate
At the first of two budget public hearings Wednesday night, the Fort Myers Beach Fire Control district approved a tentative millage rate of $2.76 per $1,000 of assessed property value for the budget year that begins October 1st. That’s down from the current rate of $2.80.
Your New Town Hall is Open
Exactly 18 days short of three years after Hurricane Ian destroyed the Fort Myers Beach government building, town employees have a new home. On Wednesday the ribbon was cut and tours were given at 6231 Estero Boulevard.

Art Association Celebrating 75 Years
