The Lee County Department of Transportation is asking drivers using the Big Carlos Pass Bridge to be aware of an upcoming temporary nighttime closure of the bridge. Traffic will be shut down in both directions between 8 and 10 p.m. Wednesday

The Salty Sam’s Patriot Boat Parade is Saturday, June 27th starting at 11AM. There are already over 50 boats registered to show off their red, white and blue boats. We will carry the parade live from Salty Sam’s on our Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

On Thursday FEMA announced the agency has approved more than $90 million in funding to support more than 50 recovery and hazard mitigation projects in Florida communities affected by Hurricanes Helene, Milton and other past disasters.

The Lee County Tourist Development Council met Thursday and reported the preliminary resort tax collected for April was $5,193,092, a 25.0% increase over April 2025 when $4,152,523 was collected.
