70 days after local builder Joe Orlandini and 3rd party inspector Steve Brockman botched his inspections with the Town of Fort Myers Beach, Greg Scasny has been given the green light to restart construction on his new home.

Big, big decisions will be made by the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency in the months and years to come. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will decide who will make those decisions. 

After Hurricane Ian the permitting process was like the Wild, Wild, West. The Town of Fort Myers Beach is not letting that happen post Hurricane Helene.

Anita Cereceda, who lost 2 stores in Times Square, The Pier Peddler and Local Color, and The Islander in Santini Plaza, will reopen The Islander at 9AM today. It’s the first business to reopen in Santini Plaza after they were all wiped out by Hurricane Ian 2 years ago.

After taking a week off due to Hurricane Helene, and the sand and water it left behind, the Farmers Market is back in Times Square today and tomorrow starting at 9AM. Linda Miller’s 41 Markets hosts the Farmers Market which will also be returning to Santini Plaza in November.

St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church on Williams Drive is hosting a pet blessing on Saturday, October 5th at 10AM. All pets are welcome and for more information you can visit the church online HERE.

The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club was originally planning a Magic Ghost Show and Tour for October 10th with Mike Yost, creator of The Haunted Pub Crawl. Yost passed away suddenly last month and now The Woman’s Club is holding its Social at The Lighthouse on the 10th in his honor.

The 2nd of our 3  debates for Fort Myers Beach Town Council is Friday, October 11th at 5PM at Fresh Catch on Estero Boulevard behind Publix. There are 4 residents running for 3 open seats this November.
