And it’s being held at 10:30 at Doc Fords under the Matanzas Pass Bridge. Findings from a new water quality study on the topic will be released to the public. Check out the speaker list…

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, Captains For Clean Water, and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida will be holding the press conference.

The findings come from a company called Greene Economics and it quantifies the economic impacts of harmful water-quality events and degraded water quality on the southwest Florida economy.

The study also highlights how good water quality has a positive economic impact and that projects and policies that improve water quality will pay off through a more robust economy.

The speakers include:

James Evans, Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation CEO
Capt. Daniel Andrews, Captains For Clean Water Executive Director
John Lai, Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce President and CEO

  1. I think water quality is right up there with air. Have you noticed all the rain we have had this winter? Well this will be a front and center story this summer when they are releasing water by the hundreds of gallons per minute and that beautiful black line is seen creeping to Sanibel from the Caloosahatchee.
