John McLean, Don Sudduth, Doug Eckmann and Jim Dunlap were all reappointed to the Local Planning Agency by the Town Council on Monday. All four had been on the committee before being reappointed. Two other residents applied but did not make the cut.
Curlew street resident Tyler Spradling and Pearl Street resident Anne Neaf applied but did not receive enough votes.
Big decisions will be made by the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency in the months and years to come. All new development proposals come before the LPA first before they make a recommendation to the Town Council.
Recently, the LPA recommended approval for the Estero Island Beach Club building and the Town Council voted to deny the project. Last week the LPA voted to deny Seagate’s Red Coconut development proposal.
Other projects coming up soon include the new proposed resort on the Estero Boulevard Neptune property, a new resort The Pink Shell is proposing, London Bay’s plan for The Outrigger and The Arches at Moss Marina.

Southender… you forgot the waterfountain
Anyone who wastes their time on this committee is either stupid or complicit with council ( hence, why these 4 made it). Council doesn’t care what your recommendations are ( see red coconut property vote)
Rules don’t matter… $$$$$ talks, that’s all you need. Oh and a porta potty on the beach for the homeless…
