The first step in the process to build the Margaritaville resort on Fort Myers Beach is underway. Fencing is being constructed around several buildings TPI owns. Margaritaville logos will eventually be added to the chain link fencing.
Several buildings will be demolished to make room for the new 254 room resort. Construction is expected to start this summer and last for two years.
The project has taken 6 years to get to this point, the most recent delay was a lawsuit filed by beach resident Chris Patton to try to stop the project.
