When you heard the Fort Myers Beach VFW needed help, it only took you 12 days to accomplish the mission; raise $25,000 in order to receive another $25,000 to match the money raised. Today we went over that mountain.
If $50,000 was not raised, the 86-year old Fort Myers Beach VFW was looking at closing its doors. The recent hurricanes stacked up repair bills that were hard to stay in front of and with a slow season, things looked bleak. We reached out, asked how we could help, then launched a fundraiser with a big bucket of prize donations local businesses were more than happy to contribte to. Then, we received a call from a Fort Myers Beach resident who said he would match what we raised up to $25,000.
You all came through with flying colors. The support for our hero veterans is off the charts. We went over the $25,000 today and we still have 3 days to go.
Mission Accomplished!
