On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved $47,730 worth of repairs to the historic structure. The repairs need to be done to prevent further rot and damage to the building.
There are several water leaks in the main museum of the Mound House and the garage which serve as offices and restrooms. Additional proposed repairs are needed to stabilize the original brick columns on the Mound House structure and seal the cedar shake singles to prevent future water damage and rotting.
