Nearly 480 days after the wind and water brought on by Hurricane Ian severely damaged Nervous Nellie’s, the popular Fort Myers Beach restaurant is ready to reopen.

With a very beachy vibe fresh coat of paint on the outside, and a boatload of new equipment and furniture on the inside, Nervous Nellie’s will be open for business tomorrow morning at 11AM.

The Nervous Nellie’s reopening cements Old San Carlos as the new entertainment district on Fort Myers Beach, joining Wahoo Willie’s, Snug Harbor, Rude Shrimp and Petey’s Upper Deck all within walking distance of Bayside Park.

    • Sounds like you need to leave the island if you begrudge a restaurant reopening after repairing the damage wrought by Hurricane Ian.

  1. Best news of the week! Can’t wait to eat some of the best food on the beach! I’ve really missed you Nervous Nellie’s!!!
    See you soon! Micky B

  2. Great news! Looks like the oversize chair is still there. I have a photo of my daughter sitting in it from a few years back. Looking forward to visiting again. Was there last January and toured the devastation. Supporting these businesses is vital to the rebirth of FMB. Congratulations, best of luck, and well wishes from chilly Minnesota!

  3. While we won’t get another winter vacation on the Beach due to Ian, it’s exciting to hear of another of our favorite lunch spots reopening. Congratulations!! What I’m wondering is how Nellie’s, with their hurricane devastation, secured engineering, contractors and materials and all permitting from the Town to completely rebuild in fifteen months?? Seems like businesses are given priority above residents!! Just saying!
