SCCF reports that 415 volunteers joined forces across Sanibel, Captiva and North Captiva for the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup. They filled a dumpster with over 1,180 pounds of trash during the event.
Coastal Watch Director Kealy Pfau said, “The dedication of our volunteers and community partners proves that we are all united in our mission to keep our oceans clean and healthy.”
Since 1986, the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup has mobilized over 18 million volunteers worldwide, collecting nearly 385 million pounds of trash.
