Repairs Started on Beach Shell Inn

Just under $700,000 worth of repairs are planned for the 12-suite Beach Shell Inn at 2610 Estero Boulevard. The motel is at the corner of Estero Boulevard and Gulf Beach Road next to Estero Beach Club.

The boutique hotel was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian and they are just starting the repair work.

Apparently the structure was deemed safe and the repair amount is under FEMA’s 50% rule. The structure was appraised at $1.63 million which means the owner could not do repairs if they were estimated at over half that number.
The 15 room/12 suites are in a 2-floor building. There are several offices in addition to the motel suites and there’s a pool outside the rooms.

The motel was originally built in 1957. In 2024 the property was for sale and it seemed a sale was pending for $4.5 million. However, that appears to have fallen through. The repairs are being made by the same owners who owned the motel before Ian. We reached out to the owners to see when the motel might reopen but have not heard back.
