In previous years The Wyndham Resort hosted the event. The Wyndham has been closed since Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2021. The resort is expected to be demolished soon.
The American Sand Sculpting Championship is presented by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce with partners, The Sand Lovers, Â and DiamondHead Beach Resort.
Residents need something on the South End to go to, such as bars and restaurants. Keep packing everything in on the north end and you can expect 3 hour traffic delays! I guess parking for the Sand Sculpture will be in the parking lots nearby and likely will be at least $20 if not $30! Miss our town so much, used to look forward to driving down to the north end.
