Fort Myers Beach Town Councilman Dan Allers was the top vote-getter at the chili-tasting contest at the Woman’s Club Tree Festival Saturday night. Allers’ knocked off 3-time defending chili champion Reid Freeman from Smokin Oyster Brewery, who came in second place.
Allers made “Trail Blazin” chili which included Bison and Bacon.
For his win, Allers gets to wear the chili champion green jacket until next year.
