On Tuesday night the Lee County School District chose board member Bill Ribble to represent the district in the first conflict resolution meeting with the Town of Fort Myers Beach regarding the beach school.

Board member Jada Langford-Flemming said, Mr. Ribble is a great representative for that district for certain.” Board Chair Sam Fisher said School Superintendent Denise Carlin would also be attending with district staff.

On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council initiated its first action against the district which the town believes is in “material breach” of the Interlocal Agreement the district signed with the town to rebuild the Beach School.

The town voted to set November 5th at 1PM as the date and time to hold a meeting at the Town Hall building. The meeting is the first step in the conflict resolution process prior to possibly filing a lawsuit against the school district.

Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt, Mayor Dan Allers, Town Manager Will McKannay and Town Attorney Nancy Stuperich will represent the town. The meeting is open to the public and public input is allowed during the meeting.
