The Town of Fort Myers Beach will officially open its new Town Hall building on Wednesday, September 10th, one day before the Town Council holds its first meeting in the building.

The 9A-11A event includes a ribbon cutting with guest speakers.

With an $8 million grant from the state of Florida, the town purchased the building for $7 million and also bought the old 7-11 property next store and converted it into a parking lot.

The 3-floor 24,000 square foot building sits at the corner of Estero Boulevard and Bahia Via. It’s a storm-hardened structure, having survived the two most recent hurricanes, including Ian. The Town Council chambers is on the first floor with offices on the second floor.

The new town hall is located at 6231 Estero Blvd. Tours will be given and refreshments will be served.

On Thursday, September 11th the Town Council will hold its first budget hearing at 5PM.

  1. That will be the 65th anniversary day of Hrricane Donna’s arrival onto Fort Myers Beach at New Pass. Sept. 10, 1960. About 11:45 am.
Until Ian it was our worst in modern times.

  2. Yeah let’s reward them with a giant new building. Maybe that will help them actually get things done and quit hiding from FMB owners. Now I want to see them sell the lot that the other building was on so they can use that money to pay off the loan. Why are they holding onto it??? We have no money, they bought a building, had it renovated, bought a lot for parking and yet for some reason they still are not selling the lot!! SELL IT!

  3. Until the new town hall is open, how do you get assistance from the town staff? Emails go unanswered and voicemail boxes are full. This needs to be addressed! Please, we need help.

    • I had that experience as well. Received a letter in the mail that told me to call immediately. I get transferred to somebody whose voicemail box is full.
