Cypress Lake coach Maureen Cannon passed away this month after battling ALS. Cannon had a connection to Fort Myers Beach and her friends and family will celebrate her life Wednesday, May 29th at 5:30PM at Wahoo Willie’s.
Former students and parents that live or lived on Fort Myers Beach know Cannon as many beach kids go to Cypress Lake after graduating from the beach School. She also volunteered and for many fundraisers and beach cleanups on the island. And, frequented restaurants where her students worked until she could no longer walk.
Cannon Strong t-shirts will be available at the Celebration of Life for $20. The money will be given to the Coach Maureen Cannon Scholarship program.
