What is Big Sugar up to Now?

Captains For Clean Water says the recent approval of Big Sugar’s Southland rock mine in Palm Beach County was a wake-up call. And the reason they have launched a podcast. They say it’s a new way to expose what’s really happening behind the scenes.

In their first episode, which is available on APPLE PODCASTS and YOUTUBE, the first episode is a deep dive “into one of the most urgent and threatening environmental battles in Florida: the Southland rock mine proposal in the Everglades Agricultural Area.”

Captains for Clean Water co-founders Dan Andrews and Chris Wittman “unpack the corruption, the fast-tracked approvals, the strategic language, and the political theater surrounding the Rock Mine project—and reveal how Big Sugar, private contractors, and local government worked behind closed doors to move it forward.”

  1. I fully support Captains for clean water and Vote Water. How many know that Trumps “Big Beautiful Bill” increases the sugar loan price guarantee from $19.75 to $24 per pound. All the while DOGE is supposedly ferreting out WFA,the this bill will add an additional 22% to the price of US sugar, already higher than the rest of the world. Them sugar Boys can sure sweeten the pols
