Big, big decisions will be made by the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency in the months and years to come. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will decide who will make those decisions.
There are 6 residents who’ve applied for 4 open seats on the LPA. The Town Council appoints members to the LPA (and all Town committees) in a closed vote. All 6 names will be on a ballot Monday and the top 4 vote getters are appointed. The Council continues to vote until the seats are filled. Who voted for who is made public after the meeting. LPA members serve 2-year terms.
The 6 candidates include 4 incumbent LPA members. Those four members are John McLean, Don Sudduth, Doug Eckmann and Jim Dunlap. Curlew street resident Tyler Spradling and Pearl Street resident Anne Neaf have also applied to serve
