The Fort Myers Beach Lions Club’s 67th Annual Shrimp Festival is March 3rd to the 9th. Lions President Drew Yelle will be our first guest at Margaritaville tomorrow. At 11:00. Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue co-founder Diana Thies joins us at 11:30 to discuss a fundraiser being held on Fort Myers Beach.

Actually it will be the 72nd shrimp festival. It began in
1952. The shrimp dock owners started it. My mom put together the parade, which went from the docks on Main Street across the bridge to the county park. The dock owners served up boiled shrimp at the county park.
The Lions Club took it over in 56.
Ooops! I Forgot the 2 times the festival was canceled. It would be the 70th festival. If it isn’t canceled for weather.
