Robbert Himmelstein, who owns the new furniture store being built in the old bank building in the Sea Grape Plaza, would also like to build a 3-story building that includes several restaurants and a roof-top bar.
Himmelstein requested a pre-application meeting with town staff back on October 4th. Those meetings help an applicant determine if staff even thinks a proposed idea has a chance of approval in front of the LPA and Town Council.
The proposed 3 story building is 22,500 square feet and would include Charro Brothers Restaurant and Kilwins on the first floor. Charro Brothers is operating now out of a food truck on the same property as this proposed structure (2801 Estero Blvd.). Kilwins was located in Times Square before Ian destroyed those structures.Â
Tommy Bahama’s restaurant is the proposed restaurant for the 2nd floor. The Tommy Bahama brand is well known and includes 8 Florida restaurant locations including Naples and Coconut Point.
The 3rd floor of the proposed building would include a roof-top bar.
2801 Estero Boulevard is located across Bay Road from the library and right up the street from the Beach School. Currently the only restaurant open in the Sea Grape Plaza is The Island’s Pancake House.
