An e-mail was sent to Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Roger Hernstadt and the Town Council that included the pictures below. They were taken Sunday morning after the thunderstorms swept through Fort Myers Beach.
The e-mail said 3rd Street has never flooded this bad before and it’s not even rainy season yet.
The residents want a solution. Here’s what the e-mail said, “Your road contractor needs to fix the grading on our street. Water used to flow towards the storm drains on Old Scan Carlos but now is getting backed up higher on the street – and flooding our properties more than ever. This project is not complete until proper drainage is restored. Please get into solution mode before we experience property damage from street flooding. I am looking forward to hearing answers on how the town is going to resolve this for the taxpaying and voting residents of Third Street.”
