7-11, which has 5 locations on Fort Myers Beach, has notified Mayor Dan Allers that the company will be donating $25,000 to the town to help repair the little league field at Bay Oaks. The field was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, then the fields were used to store debris during the initial months of debris cleanup.

Last month The Scotts Company and Major League Baseball announced the two organizations were donating $50,000 toward repairs of the field.

The town is hopeful representatives from 7-11 will come to a future Town Council meeting to make their $25,000 check presentation.

7-11 also informed the Mayor that they would be formally submitting plans to remodel the store at 7120 Estero Boulevard later this week. There are five 7-11 locations on the island and all of them were heavily damaged or totally destroyed by Hurricane Ian. Three we’re torn down and two are still standing. The three that were demolished are across from Lynn Hall Park, next to The Whale and by where the old Junkanoo building was. The two standing are across from the Outrigger and Santini Plaza. All five locations will eventually re-open.
