Our 2nd Beach Cleanup Was a Huge Success

Despite the chilly Sunday morning temperatures nearly 100 people came out to help us clean the south end of Fort Myers Beach. The focus was on the lagoon area on the south end.

We had several volunteers who took advantage of the waders many of you donated through to get into the water and pull out the hard-to-reach debris. A giant buoy and recliner chair were some of the rather large objects that were pulled out. We filled several hundred bags of trash over the two hours Sunday morning.

We would like to thank Keep Lee County Beautiful for providing the gloves and bags and we would like to thank Chris and Ginger Weber for volunteering their time and their tractor to come out and remove the bags from the beach that we accumulated.

We’ll keep you posted on when our next cleanup is.
