The beach access at Palm Avenue on Fort Myers Beach should have its restroom facilities back by early next year. The facilities were destroyed by Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2022.

The new restroom trailers will cost just over $66,000 and the funding will come from covered by hurricane reimbursement funding, insurance, and Tourist Development Council (TDC) grant funding. There will be no cost to beach taxpayers.

Palm Avenue is beach access 30 located next to Diamondhead resort. Currently there are several porta-potties in that location.

The Town Council will vote on a resolution to approve the funding for the new trailers on Monday. It will be a month or two before the trailers ship and are installed on Palm Avenue.
