The 6th Annual Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club Christmas Tree Festival is in the books. More than $20,000 will be given back to local charitable organizations from the Christmas Tree and Wreath bidding auction.
The two-day 2023 event held at the Fort Myers Beach Library is a fundraiser to support nonprofits on Fort Myers Beach.
The Festival included two days of silent bidding on custom Christmas trees and Holiday wreaths. All trees and wreaths are donated and decorated by area non-profit organizations and local businesses. All funds raised for each tree and wreath goes back to their designated charity.
The two-day event included a Friday night VIP Early Preview and Cocktail Party, live music, cash bar and food trucks. Day two included a craft fair, bake sale and the annual chili cook-off. Taking home the 1st place $1,000 prize for the top chili was Scott Allen and Kevin Clark who gave the $1,000 back to the Woman’s Club. In 2nd Place was Mayor Dan Allers who also gave the ($500) prize money back to the Woman’s Club. In third place, winning the $250 cash prize was Patti Smith.
CEO of Allen Development Group Scott Allen (pictured below) said his secret to success was, “You let the chili simmer it for 16 hours and use home grown beef, pork and fresh killed venison. You mix it with an amazing mixture of tomato sauces and herbs.” And, clearly you make a lot more chili than anyone else so you’re the last man standing.
