The Historical Society will be displaying the old beachy vibe street signs, that Fort Myers Beach residents created, at their cottage building at 161 Bay Road. The organization is asking for help removing the signs, if a new green street sign has been installed, and the old one is still there.
The painted signs can be dropped off at the Historical Society building and left on the porch. The signs were the only way to find the side streets off Estero Boulevard for months following Hurricane Ian when every street sign was lost in the wind and storm surge.
The signs will live on forever at the Historical Society building which is clearly a perfect location.
Leave the signs alone..we love them right where they are
