The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation raised $2,350 during a Pickelball Tournament held at Bay Oaks last Saturday. The Alex King Foundation covered all the expenses for the event.

The tournament was started off at 8AM with a 30-minute benefit match between Mayor Dan Allers and Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt and Ed and Kim Ryan from Beach Talk Radio. The Mayor and Vice Mayor raised $750 for the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club and Kim and Ed raised $500 for the Fort Myers Beach Art Association.

The Mayor and Vice Mayor won the match by a score of 28-17.

Event Organizer Joy Sullivan from the Community Foundation said, “The first annual Dinky Pickleball Tournament was a success. Many participants gave me positive feedback and want to do it again. We raised over $2,000 for the FMB Community Foundation with the support of Alex King, all going back to our island.”
