You may recall our earlier report about the May 25th golf cart accident on Estero Boulevard near the Fort Myers Beach Library. The final Lee County Sheriff’s report was issued Monday. The report states the accident was a result of careless driving.

The golf cart was being driven by 54-year old Kelly Vance from Kentucky who 2 witnesses at the scene told Beach Talk Radio was serving the vehicle back and forth. The traffic report states that Vance was operating the vehicle in a careless or negligent manner. LCSO reported that the golf cart rolled over. Despite Lee County repaving an area where the accident took place, the LCSO report states the road was not a factor in the crash. There was no alcohol involved, according to the LCSO report.

The report says Vance was transported to the hospital for a head injury, although there were also reports that her foot was badly injured. A passenger in the golf cart was also taken to the hospital for road rash.

The report does not state a ticket was issued.
