The Estero Island Historic Society is inviting everyone to a new mini-lecture series exploring the most notorious murders that have shocked Fort Myers Beach over the past 100 years.

From unsolved mysteries to chilling crimes that made national headlines, these true stories reveal the dark side of our island’s history. Each lecture will delve into the details of these infamous cases, shedding light on the victims, the investigations, and the impact on our community.

Whether you’re a history buff or a true crime enthusiast, you won’t want to miss these fascinating and eerie glimpses into Fort Myers Beach’s past.

The first presentation this Saturday at 11AM at the Historical Society building will focus on the Galloway murders that occurred in September 1953.

  1. The EIHS is at 161 Bay Road, just before the entrance to Matanzas Pass Preserve. The historic 1921 main cottage is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. All are welcome at no charge.
