The owners of Salty Sam’s Marina have announced that the grand opening of its newest waterfront restaurant, Marina Cantina Waterfront Tin Tiki, is this Wednesday. That will be followed up by a Grand Opening celebration on October 25th.
Located at 2200 Main Street, Fort Myers Beach, Marina Cantina brings back the laid-back, old-school charm that has long defined the island’s dining scene.
Marina Cantina rises from the hurricane-battered shell of a historic shrimp packing building and former restaurant, The Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill. Devastated by Hurricane Ian, the building was struck by boats and left in ruins, its interior completely destroyed. Today, the space has been reimagined as a casual, vibrant gathering place that celebrates delicious food, friendly service, and stunning waterfront views — all while bringing back the rustic Fort Myers Beach charm that locals and visitors have always loved.
“Marina Cantina is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of the island spirit that so many thought was wiped out by the storm,” said Ryan VanDenabeele, Marketing Director at Salty Sam’s Marina.. “We’ve built a space that feels like the Fort Myers Beach people remember and love, while adding some fresh flavor and energy.”
“We wanted to create the kind of place where you can pull up by boat, kick back with a drink, enjoy some music, and feel that true Fort Myers Beach vibe,” added co-owner, Matt Hanson.
