The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife is looking for animal lover volunteers to help them raise orphaned wildlife, including doves, squirrels, and opossums.
The need is especially great this year as the pandemic has affected the number of students who are usually available to help. All extra hands will be appreciated to take care of these orphans.
Prospective foster parents will be asked “to commit to the full season and are available to raise multiple groups of babies over the spring/summer months”. Babies require multiple feeds, typically every 3 hours, starting early in the morning and ending late at night. Therefore those applying should have a flexible schedule. Babies must be fed and kept at the foster home as permitting prohibits babies from being anywhere other than at the foster home or CROW.
Training will be provided and fosters must abide by the rules set forth by FWC permitting, including minimizing handling to give wild babies the best chance at survival when they are released.
