Neighbors on Pearl Street are angry. They’d like to know who cut down several trees in front of the Island Bay Marina at the end of their street, and they’d like to know why.
The property is owned by the town. Over the years, some of the residents on Pearl street cleaned up the area, turning it into a nice little park with trees and benches, all at their own expense.
Earlier this month someone took a chainsaw to the trees and cut them down. There were no witnesses and there doesn’t appear to be any video of what took place either.
When we contacted LCSO they told us there has not been a report filed on what took place. Someone from the town told the neighbors they would not be filing a report because there were no witnesses.
The town has removed the damaged trees from the property.
