The Bonita Fish Company, formerly Bonita Bill's, located under the Matanzas Pass Bridge on the way to Fort Myers Beach will open to the public Monday, November 3rd.

Lee County has approved two contracts, totaling $14 million, to repair sidewalks, the roadway, and pedestrian safety items on Estero Boulevard caused by Hurricane Ian over 3 years ago. The work begins next month and is expected to take a year.

Fort Myers Beach Town Attorney Nancy Stuparich reported to the Town Council Monday that the School District would cover the entire cost of a mediator in their battle over the Beach School, but only if the meeting was moved off the beach.

Estero Boulevard property owner Eddie Rood, who is on the upcoming recall ballot, has been using a slightly altered version of the Fort Myers Beach town logo on his campaign materials. Is he allowed to do that? No.

Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt told the Town Council on Monday that he would not seek or accept the nomination as Vice Mayor if any of the other council members were thinking of nominating him.

On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved a $95,710 add-on to Earth Balance’s dune plantings contract. The additional plantings will be paid for by a state grant and bring the total number of plants on the beach to 160,000.

The town of Fort Myers Beach is hosting its annual Fright Night at Bay Oaks on Friday from 6PM to 9PM. The annual event is a Halloween celebration for the entire family that always draws a big community crowd.
