Will The Town Council Reduce a $16,500 Fine
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will consider a request from Robert Himmelstein to reduce a code violation fine from $16,500 to $0. Himmelstein is refurbishing the old bank building in the Sea Grape Plaza into a furniture store.

Defamation Mediation Does Not Result in Settlement
In the defamation lawsuit former Mayor Ray Murphy and former Council member Bill Veach are defending themselves in, a nearly 4-hour mediation was held Wednesday. It did not result in a settlement. The word is the two sides are still miles apart.Â
