The Estero Island Historic Society is hosting a presentation by Terry Cain called A Time Gone by at the Fort Myers Beach Library, Monday, February 14th at 7PM.

A Time Gone By is a look back into local history. This project was created by Terry Cain and John Kiseda, the Environmental Education Program Coordinator for Lee County. John and Terry created a presentation about how different local areas got their names. A Time Gone By is a whimsical look at local lore of Fort Myers Beach and southwest Florida sites.

Terry Cain was a Conservation Lands Coordinator for Lee County Parks and Recreation Conservation 2020 program for 15 years. She coordinated environmental programs, conducted site clean ups with volunteers, removed exotic pest plants and wrote conservation land management plans. Her areas of responsibility included Bowditch Point Regional Park Preserve, Matanzas Pass Preserve, San Carlos Bay – Bunche Beach Preserve and other preserves in Lee County.

Terry is a retired certified Arborist, Pesticide Applicator and Wild Land Fire Fighter with a degree in Marine Science. She was raised at the Jersey Shore and has been a resident of Fort Myers Beach since 1976.

The presentation is free.
