Thank you to Fairview Isles resident Kathy Kouba for sharing this story with us. She says a few years ago, Fairview Isles needed to upgrade the landscaping to the entrance of their community. They decided to offer community members the opportunity to honor someone with a tree. Then Ian came along.
Kouba says six families decided to finance a tree and have a plaque put near the tree for a loved one. “Needless to say, during Ian, the trees were destroyed. This year the association again offered that opportunity to members to buy a tree in honor of someone. 12 people accepted this opportunity.”
This past Friday a group from the community met at the entrance to Fairview Isles and viewed all the new trees and the new plaques that are now a permanent part of the community.
