With more than 120 tickets sold at $75.00 each, $9,000 in tickets sales alone was raised for the Friends of The Mound House Friday night from its event Artful Intersection. Auction item sales are still being calculated.

Paintings from local artists were auctioned off at the event, including Lisa Grinter, Carol Sutto Pugliese, Megan Kissinger, Patricia Payzant and this piece from Ellen Negley, which went for $700.00.
Helping to put all the cash donated to the bottom line was The King Family Foundation. The Foundation covered all the expenses for the event.

Alex King commented to Beach Talk Radio News: “We have a real Historic Treasure on the Island which is the Mound House. And it offers so much more then history too; education, activities , kayaking. When the opportunity arose to bring this event on the Mound House property I really wanted to see it happen. And after listening to Ellen Vaughn, how could I resist stepping up to help a high quality event like this.”

All the proceeds will go toward Mound House Programs and Exhibits.
