Arts Show At Lovers Key Begins Tomorrow

Once a year during peak season, Lover’s Key state park hosts the island’s premier art show. Now in it’s second year, this unique fine art show returns Saturday and Sunday
The Invitational at Lover’s Key features metal and wood sculptors, glass blowers, painters, fine jewelers, functional art and wearable fiber art.

Hours for the show are 10am to 5pm daily and will feature over many talented artists, many demonstrating throughout the weekend.

Presented by Blue Ribbon Events, The Invitational will expose patrons of the arts to unique and mesmerizing art for the home, body and soul. Come out to support artisans and find the perfect gift for that special someone, new home treasure or whimsical addition to your art collection. These new style boutique events cater to the artists, makers and creators.

Wood Sculptor Isaac Brooks sculpts fish, birds, gators and other wildlife into vivid 3 dimensional masterpieces. Grouper, mahi, flamingos, and even toucans can be found in his booth. Original cypress sculptures are made from reclaimed Florida cypress. Each piece is hand carved, hand stained and finished off with a two part epoxy resin that makes safe for indoor and outdoors. Each piece Isaac creates is meant to embody and represent Florida’s aquatic life. Always a delight with patrons of the arts, be sure to get there early for best selection!.

Retired teacher and a Master Naturalist, photographer Jane Rubrecht welcomes the opportunity to reach people and raise their awareness of surrounding environmental issues. Each photo seeks to elicit a visceral reaction with an audience. This “Wow” factor opens the door to conversations raising the awareness of environmental and worldwide issues. Jane believe “As a Master Naturalist, my dream is to get people to respect and be moved to action by my work. To join with others and get involved in saving the Ecosystems and wildlife that surround us before it is too late.” Her work is a curated collection of photographic fine art presented on a variety of mediums. Gallery wrap canvas, aluminum panels, framed canvas board and matted work gives folks a vast array of choices. Wildlife, landscapes, flowers and abstracts create a unique blend of work for the public.

Many other artists will be available with unique handmade items. Potters, jewelers, fiber artists, photographers, lamp makers and so many other intriguing mediums will be on display. Nationally acclaimed, award winning artists will display, sell, engage and educate patrons from 10am to 5pm daily. 27-Time Award Winning Crab Cakes and Chesapeake Bay Seafood chef Charles Maslin from Laughing Crab will be dishing up mouth watering crab cakes and seafood platters all weekend long. These crab cakes are the real deal!
