The threat of rain did not deter the community from coming out to Lovers Key last Thursday night to taste craft brews, enjoy live entertainment and bid on auction items. Organizer Megan Allers says over $17,000 was raised for the Friends of Lovers Key.
There were 9 breweries on hand for the event and one silent auction item, that would have sent one lucky kid to the Lovers Key eco arts summers camp, took in enough to send 6 kids to camp.
Allers said, The FOLKS Organization was excited to host Beach N’ Brews after taking a year off due to COVID. We appreciate the community’s support of the event, and our turn out was amazing! We’re already being asked when the event will be held next year, so mark November 18th on your calendars. We’d like to thank our sponsors this year: Suncoast Distributing, Sun Palace Vacations, Allen Development Group, Gulfview Solutions, Rousso Valley Hops, and Tuckaway Café.”
The money raised goes toward fundraising efforts for the new Lovers Key Welcome and Discovery Center and covering budget shortfalls at Lovers Key State Park
