New Shell & Mollusk Program Announced
The National Shell Museum on Sanibel has announced the New Sunrise Shell and Mollusk Stroll program. Participants will join a marine biologist from the Museum on an early-morning beach walk to learn about local mollusks and their shells, and to search for living mollusks.

Controversial Dune Walkover Has Been Built
After years of court fights, tens of thousands of dollars in attorney fees, and years of fighting between the homeowners and town staff and government, Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer have built their 293-foot walkway to the beach. The wooden walkway took two weeks to build.

Those Artistic Street Signs Are Coming Down
They were the first signs of the beach vibe returning to Fort Myers Beach after Hurricane Ian. Volunteers painted and installed colorful street signs all over Estero Boulevard after the storm destroyed nearly every sign on the island. The Town Manager says they are coming down.
Allers, Atterholt Stay in Charge
On Monday at the Fort Myers Beach Town Council meeting, Dan Allers was voted in as Mayor of Fort Myers Beach and Jim Atterholt was voted in as Vice Mayor. Every November the Town Council has to vote in a Mayor and Vice Mayor for one year.
