DeSantis Awards $14 Million to FMB Fire District
On Thursday, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded $338 million in state funding to communities impacted by Hurricane Ian to support long-term recovery efforts and resiliency. $14 million from that distribution will go to the Fort Myers Beach Fire District.

Dune Walkover Approved ….Again
Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer can begin to build their 293-foot walkover to the beach when turtle season ends next month. On Monday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted to release the permit after approving a special exception for the walkover back in March.

The Lahaina Inn Resort on Estero Boulevard will not be rebuilding. The 3-decades old property, located on Estero Boulevard, with 37 timeshares, was wiped out by Hurricane Ian. The property is now for sale for $30 million.
Monday is Dune Walkover D-Day
On Monday, once again, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will consider, and most likely vote, on giving Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer their permit for a 293-foot dune walkover behind their homes. The council originally granted them the permit back in March.
