By a vote of 4-1 the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted not to advance Estero Island Beach Club’s new building proposal to a 2nd public hearing which kills the project. Council member Karen Woodson was the lone yes vote.

New Fire Station Groundbreaking This Friday

The Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District will break ground on its new fire station at 2545 Estero Boulevard this Friday. Shovels hit the dirt at 10AM on the old Topps Supermarket property. The Fire District is hoping to cut the ribbon on the new fire house at the end of 2025.

Beach Bar Breaks Ground on New Building

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Beach Bar, which was located on I street before being wiped out by Hurricane Ian, was held Thursday. About 200 people attended the ceremony to watch the Beach Bar staff and a host of muckety mucks flip the dirt.
