This past Saturday my walkaround took place on Dakota Street and Oak Ridge Avenue with a short walk onto Estero Boulevard and over to the beach side. It ended with a tour of a vacation home now available from Sun Palace Vacations. Watch the walkaround HERE.

The town of Fort Myers Beach sent out an official press release Wednesday evening that stated a Town Council meeting scheduled for 1PM that day was canceled due to "improper noticing."

Margaritaville to Open in November

It will be a phased opening according to TPI's Tom Torgerson. The main resort will open this November with the Beach Club (the pool area) opening in either December or January.

No Dune Walkover Permit…For Now

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council did a bit of a flip flop Tuesday. Two weeks ago the town council gave town attorney John Herin direction to send an indemnification letter to Estero Boulevard residents Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer. The letter would have triggered town staff sending the homeowners their permit to build a dune walkover.

Matanzas Inn Sells For $7.5 Million

Despite the wreckage left behind by Hurricane Ian, properties on Fort Myers Beach continue to sell for hefty sums. A local investment group called MatanzasFMBLLC has purchased the property at 414 Crescent street for $7.5 million.

The Clock Will Be Back Soon

On Tuesday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council accepted a donation from George and Linda Merschman who purchased a replacement clock for Times Square. The new $38,000 clock resembles the original clock that was lost due to Hurricane Ian.
