They are still not yet officially open for business, however, Annette Stillson is hosting an Open House Saturday from 10AM to 3PM for everyone who helped her clean out her unit to get ready for the big Grand reopening. The Book Nook is located in the Santini Plaza.

After a Hurricane delay followed a confusing September 23rd meeting about whether they should be on the agenda, owners of the Estero Island Beach Club will finally get their first public hearing to rebuild on Monday.

Barring a Hurricane this weekend, which is not in the current forecast, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will meet Monday after being postponed due to Hurricane Milton. The agenda is now nearly 700 pages long and includes appointments of all committee members. 

The Whale, Sand Bottom’s and Gulfside 12 are hosting a gathering of the community Sunday from 1-5PM on the Gulfside 12 property at 6230 Estero Boulevard. Ex-Squids-It-Eats will serve up the free chow and The Stagehoggs will provide the entertainment.

State Senator Jonathan Martin joins Beach Talk Radio this Sunday at 10AM at Wahoo Willie's. Martin, who’s running for another term, joins the show before Mayor Dan Allers makes his weekly appearance. Martin represents Senate district 33 which includes Fort Myers Beach.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is reminding residents that dumping debris, not at a legal drop-off site, is illegal. The Town has mobilized Crowder Gulf, and FEMA monitor, Tetra Tech for Milton debris pickup. They will collect four types of storm debris that need to be in separate piles.

The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium on Sanibel has a new resident, a Giant Pacific Octopus, which are the largest species of octopus. They have eight arms, three hearts, and blue blood.

For the second time in two years, kids attending the Fort Myers Beach School will be shuttling to San Carlos Park after Hurricane Milton caused just enough damage to their school to warrant extensive repairs.
