It’s Beautification Week
Next week the Town of Fort Myers Beach will be conducting a five day “Island Beautification” project to clear small piles of construction debris and yard waste that are littering sidewalks and curbsides.
When Will The Times Square Clock Be Installed?
Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Andy Hyatt says the new Times Square clock will be installed this Thursday. It will then be covered until September 28th, the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Ian, which is when the previous clock was lost in the storm.
Dune Walkover Permit Delayed….Again
After a vote failed (3-2) Monday to issue Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer their permit for a special exception that has already been approved, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council made the issue an agenda item for their September 25th meeting.
Coffee With A Cop Rescheduled
Due to the threat of Hurricane Idalia, the August 30th Coffee With a Cop had to be canceled. It has been rescheduled for October 24th at 10AM.

Town, FEMA Hosting Two Community Workshops
On Monday and Tuesday of this week the Town and FEMA will meet with the public to discuss how the recovery from Hurricane Ian is going. The government agencies are looking for input from residents on the future of Fort Myers Beach.
Let’s Go FMB Sets September Meeting
The group that started off with a big bang back in June, but hasn't met since, will hold its next meeting September 27th. The 2PM meeting will be at DiamondHead. The group organized with a goal of helping residents and business owners rebuild from Hurricane Ian.
New Faith Center Service a Big Success

The Dune Walkover is Back Monday
On Monday, Estero Boulevard property owners Eddie Rood and Kurt Kroemer may finally get their long-awaited permit to construct a dune walkover behind their homes. The permit is on the Town Council agenda under Town Attorney's items and simply says "Issuance of Dune Walkover."
Is Your Home in a Trust? Good News Could Be Coming.
The Fort Myers Beach Town Council will consider modifying an ordinance to allow island residents who own their home in a trust to obtain owner-builder permits. The town code now prohibits owner-builder permits if the property is owned in a trust.
