One of the first major development projects the LPA and Town Council may be voting on comes from Moss Marina owner Ben Freeland. After several months of radio silence Freeland announced Monday that he's submitted two applications to the town to get things rolling.

Ousted former Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Roger Hernstadt has sold his .16 acre lot on Avenida Carita for a smidge over $1 million. The deal for the empty lot was listed by former Fort Myers Beach Mayor Tracey Gore, according to online records.

Meetings are being held this month for Lee County to get public input on the Draft Action Plan for the $1.1 billion Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds received from the Federal Government. The Fort Myers Beach meeting is tonight at 5:30PM.

The work to repair Bayside Park is well underway and, according to Town Manager Andy Hyatt the new astro-turf will be installed on August 25th and 26th. Hyatt says the goal is to have Bayside Park open by Labor Day.

As the Moss Marina moves forward with its plan to redevelop its property, they are also looking for input on a proposed Ferry service for Fort Myers Beach. They have put together a survey on the topic HERE and would like community input.

On Tuesday night at Diamondhead Resort, Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce members got their first look at the proposed plans to rebuild the Neptune Beach Resort at 2310 Estero Boulevard.

Andre Mar Drive resident Greg Scasny lost his home thanks to Hurricane Ian. It was demolished and he's now in the planning phase of his rebuild hoping to get permits soon. He's also been keeping an eye on commercial building proposals that have been in the news of late. He shared his thoughts on those with the Town Council.
