My Tour of The Entire Island
This past Sunday I videotaped the entire island from Bowditch Beach to the south end of the island and back, detouring down a few side streets. The goal was to see how far along the island is in the rebuild 74 days after Hurricane Ian wiped out many Fort Myers Beach structures. WATCH

Here's the entertainment on the beach this week. Many of the performers are being paid by local resident Stephen Clark (pictured) who has an ongoing GoFundMe account to collect money to pay the musicians.
Tree Festival Raises Over $13,000
The 5th annual Woman's Club Tree Festival was held this past Saturday and a total of $13,175 was raised for local residents and non-profit organizations.
When Do You Need a Demo Permit?
Homeowners on Fort Myers Beach need to get a demolition permit before any structure is demolished/removed. A permit is also needed if you are removing or clearing debris from your property even if your home was washed away during Ian.
Having Insurance Issues?
Many Fort Myers Beach residents have had issues with insurance claims after Hurricane Ian. The state of Florida has a consumer website where you can lodge your concerns. CLICK HERE to get more information.

No Wahoo Willie’s Show Saturday Morning
We'll be attending a funeral for a local friend Saturday morning so we will not be able to broadcast. In place of our show will be an interview Town Councilman Jim Atterholdt conducted with Public Works Director Jason Freeman on the topic of debris removal. We will be live from the Woman's Club Tree Festival later in the day.
Thanks To a Tiny Town in Illinois
On Thursday, Kim & Dan Bennett and Todd Mueller, presented a check to Fort Myers Beach Mayor Dan Allers for $4,000. The money will be deposited into the Beach Talk Radio FMBRebuild fund and given to employees on the beach that lost their jobs.
The Beach Cleanup Continues
The next beach cleanup, hosted by Tunaskin, will be this Sunday beginning at 8AM. Tunaskin is partnering with Mid-Island Watersports, Keep Lee County Beautiful, and Jimmy Finch Cultivating Hope With Charm.
Another Business is Opening
It's been a great week for businesses re-opening on Fort Myers Beach after Hurricane Ian. The small tiki bar at The Lighthouse is now open from 11am to 7pm.
DiamondHead Reopening to Workers December 14
Only two months after one of the worst storms in U.S. history DiamondHead Beach Resort has announced a phased reopening. A limited number of resort suites will be available starting Wednesday, December 14th.
