When the Fort Myers Beach town staff begins its budget process it will do so with the possibility the millage rate could be increased from .95 per $1,000 of assessed property value to .99. The final number could come down, but it cannot go higher than the .99.

TPI Donated Lot To Generate Up To $250K Per Year For Town

Between $225,000 and $250,000 per year will be added to the Fort Myers Beach budget thanks to a parking lot TPI built and donated to the town, next to the old canal street beach access adjacent to the future home of Margaritaville on the beach side.

Fort Myers Beach town councilman Dan Allers is getting a lot accomplished on the issue of lighting Estero boulevard. He's been working directly with Lee County officials to try to come up with a solution both government entities can live with.

Foreclosure Lawsuits To Be Filed This Week

The town attorney notified the Fort Myers Beach town council that lawsuits to begin foreclosure proceedings against several property owners on the beach will be filed this week. Those property owners will be served with their lawsuits next week.
