The Lee County Tourist Development Council held its monthly meeting on Thursday and it was nothing but good news all around. Fort Myers Beach residents have been saying for about a year that there doesn't seem to be an off-season anymore. That's the story all over Southwest Florida. Here are a few stats to chew on.
Hundreds Celebrate at The Woman’s Club
After the parade, over 250 people showed up at the Woman's Club on Sterling Avenue to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with friends. It was also a fundraiser for the club where over $3,000 was raised.
Blue Skies For The Irish
It was a perfect day for a parade on Fort Myers Beach Thursday. Both sides of the street were 3-4 deep with people along the one mile stretch that hosted the St. Patrick's Day parade on the south end of the island. This is the 24th year for the event that is hosted by Mayor Ray Murphy.

The Fort Myers Beach Marine Resources Task Force pop-up booth schedule for April is out. April is a big month for the MRTF team. Gopher Turtle Day is April 10th, Earth Day is April 22nd and the Pop-Up team celebrates one year educating the community about the environment in April.
Feline Fundraiser Being Held Thursday
Save Our Strays Feline Rescue is hosting a fundraiser Thursday at The Nauti Parrot. The money will be used to help rescue, feed and adopt abandoned cats and kittens on Fort Myers Beach

Kids Get a Biology Lesson
Marine biologists at the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum wrapped up their annual Shell Studies program for The Sanibel School’s 6th grade students. The program introduces students to mollusks, the animals that create shells, and their importance to the ecosystem.
