The Critical Wildlife Area the town of Fort Myers Beach is entangled in is now causing issues for the town's shoreline protection project. And, it could add millions of dollars to the bill. A bill taxpayers would have to pay if its determined by the courts that the homeowners own the property the CWA sits on. We'll have all the details Friday.

County Has No Plans To Pay For Estero Blvd Lights

On Monday the Fort Myers Beach town council approved a resolution recommending Lee County install amber lighting along Estero Boulevard and authorized the Mayor to coordinate that implementation. Here's what the county had to say about that resolution.

You Could See Security Cameras Soon

Town Manager Roger Hernstadt is hopeful that several security cameras will be installed around town in time for this upcoming season. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach town council heard a presentation from Flock Safety representative Todd Troutman.

On Monday the Fort Myers Beach town council gave staff the approval to move forward and work with Florida Power & Light to install amber lights on Crescent street, first street, second street, third street and 5th street.
